Joey and I graduated and moved to Georgia. Why? We don't know why yet, we just felt it was the right place to be. We stayed with the in-laws for a bit and Joey took on some house projects... one of which was organizing and building shelves for their storage unit:
Joey and I moved to Athens. We lived with my brother-in-law (Danny), his awesome wife (Jaime) and their three BEAUTIFUL and hilarious girls for four months while we looked for work and a home.
Joey and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary: he surprised me with a trip to the mountains, including white water rafting, a hike, Native Americans and a bed and breakfast.
Two weeks of living in Georgia I found a job at an optometrist office with a great boss. They hired me, having NO experience, and they taught me as much as I could learn about eyes and health insurance... not the easiest job for me... completely out of my element.
Joey was hired at Athens Regional Hospital as an Access Counselor in the Emergency Room... AWESOME benefits.
We then moved to Athens where we moved into an adorable two story condo, two beds, 1.5 baths and minutes from the hospital.
We LOVE Athens... it has so much to offer... music, food, stores, fun events, a university, etc.
Moving to Athens, I had a 40 minute drive each way. It started to wear on us. So, I applied for more closer jobs and was also offered a position in the hospital in Patient Access. I work with the most wonderful women. They're hilarious and good people.
Joey, in the ER, has many stories about patients and I am quickly building my own.... we need to write a book or a TV show with all our stories. It is sometimes overwhelming and heartbreaking in the hospital, but it is also very rewarding.
Five months into his job, Joey was promoted to Financial Counselor... his stories get even more interesting... Poor Joey, he often gets yelled at and has had to threaten security.
And, I received Employee of the Month!!! Whooo!
We work with a lot of fun people... Joey and I participated in a talent show for our department, "Access Idol." Below you'll see the debut performance of Joey and me!! It was so fun!!
Joey's great aunt and grandfather both recently passed away and we're grateful that we were able around to attend the viewings and funeral.
I was called to be the Young Women Secretary and I'm enjoying it. It was difficult at first, but I'm getting to know the girls. AND, I gave my first church lesson ever this past Sunday. I think it went pretty well. Joey was called to be Elders Quorum Secretary. We have a great ward... there are a lot of great people.
Cheron and Jared had their baby. Baby Reese... Reeses Pieces I call her. I asked Cheron if the baby likes her nickname. She said she hates it. Too bad! It's staying. Haha! We just got back from visiting Oregon and miss everyone sooo much!

And that brings us to present day... Just got back from a tubing trip with some friends from work and Joey is doing some overtime.
I hope you've enjoyed my post... sorry so long... there's a lot to cover in a year. I've been catching up with everyone's blogs, too... it's been so fun reading about everyone!
